Northwood Design is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a focus on creating original, well-crafted furniture. Every piece is handmade by me, Ryan Overbeck.
I love to create in many forms—drawing, music, and woodworking. Like many woodworkers, I started by fixing up my own home with no prior experience. Through that process, I discovered a deep love for woodworking. From start to finish, I find joy in every step of the craft.
I believe we are meant to create. No matter who we are, creativity is something we all share. Humans are inherently creative beings. You may not identify with a specific group of artists—writers, painters, sculptors—but you have a creative voice somewhere.
Being married to an artist, one of the most valuable lessons she has taught me is that the only thing standing between you and your artistry is yourself.
Woodworking is one way I get to do this. My commitment is to pour passion and purpose into each piece I build. Whether it’s one of my original designs or a custom commission, I put my best into every project.
