Kids Table

As I built this cherry table, I kept thinking back to my childhood—how I’d sit down at a kids’ table and immediately feel excited. Why? Because the kids’ table was where the best things happened. A craft, a coloring page, a Lego spaceship, a family dinner with friends. The possibilities felt huge.
I think we naturally connect feelings to objects. That’s why, as adults, when we visit a grandparent’s house or dig through an attic and find an old toy, we’re instantly pulled back. It stirs something in us.

Becoming a father has made me feel this even more as I watch my boys grow. I’m super psyched to get this thing finished and see my kiddos scribble all over it. I hope it holds a similar place for them as they beat it up over the years.
